Labevil 100mg Tablet contains Labetalol, a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker with additional alpha-1 adrenergic blocking activity, used primarily in the management of hypertension. By blocking beta-1 and beta-2 receptors, Labetalol decreases heart rate and myocardial contractility, thereby reducing cardiac output. Its alpha-1 blocking effect induces vasodilation, resulting in decreased peripheral vascular resistance.

This dual mechanism makes Labevil effective for controlling blood pressure in both acute and chronic hypertensive conditions, including hypertensive emergencies and pregnancy-induced hypertension. The tablet is indicated for essential hypertension, hypertensive crises, and certain cases of angina pectoris. Labevil is typically administered orally, with dosage individualized based on patient response and clinical condition.
Common side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and hypotension. Caution is advised in patients with bronchial asthma, bradycardia, or heart block.
