Klartel-CL Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan 40 mg, Cilnidipine 10 mg, and Chlorthalidone 12.5 mg. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), effectively reduces blood pressure by inhibiting the vasoconstrictive effects of angiotensin II, thereby promoting vasodilation and decreasing peripheral resistance. Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker with dual L-type and N-type calcium channel antagonistic properties, contributes to blood pressure reduction by relaxing vascular smooth muscle and inhibiting sympathetic nerve activity, which may also provide renal protective effects.

Chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic, facilitates sodium and water excretion, reducing plasma volume and cardiac workload. The combination of these three agents offers a synergistic approach to managing hypertension, particularly in patients requiring multi-mechanistic intervention for optimal blood pressure control. Klartel-CL is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and may be beneficial in patients with comorbid conditions such as chronic kidney disease or heart failure, where volume control and neurohormonal modulation are critical.
