Justmet V 50/500 Tablet is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Metformin 500 mg and Vildagliptin 50 mg, indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily acts by decreasing hepatic glucose production, improving insulin sensitivity, and enhancing peripheral glucose uptake, thereby reducing blood glucose levels. Vildagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, increases the levels of incretin hormones, which stimulate insulin secretion and suppress glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner, contributing to improved glycemic control.
