This medication is generally not recommended during pregnancy. Consult your doctor to discuss safer alternatives, such as insulin therapy, which is often preferred for managing blood glucose levels during pregnancy to ensure the safety of both the mother and the developing fetus throughout the gestational period.

This medication usually does not affect your ability to drive. However, if you experience hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) due to diet or other factors, you may feel dizzy or shaky. Always carry a source of fast-acting glucose and ensure your blood sugar is stable before driving or operating machinery.

Use with caution in patients with liver impairment. While metformin is not metabolized by the liver, patients with severe hepatic disease are at a higher risk of developing lactic acidosis.
