This medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Insulin is the preferred treatment for managing blood sugar levels in pregnant women to avoid potential risks to the fetus. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor to switch to a safer alternative.

This medication generally does not affect your ability to drive. However, if you experience symptoms of hypoglycemia, such as dizziness, shakiness, or confusion, avoid driving or operating machinery until your blood sugar levels have returned to a safe range and you feel fully alert and capable.

Use with caution in patients with liver disease. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended during treatment. If you experience symptoms such as jaundice, dark urine, or persistent abdominal pain, discontinue the medication and consult your physician immediately for a thorough medical evaluation of your liver health.

It is not recommended to use this medication while breastfeeding. Metformin passes into breast milk, and the safety of vildagliptin in nursing infants has not been established. Use with extreme caution in patients with renal impairment. Metformin is cleared by the kidneys, and accumulation can lead to lactic acidosis.
