Irovel 300 Tablet contains Irbesartan 300 mg, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used primarily for the management of hypertension and diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. By selectively inhibiting the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, Irbesartan promotes vasodilation, reduces aldosterone secretion, and decreases sodium and water retention, thereby lowering blood pressure and reducing the workload on the heart.

Irovel 300 is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, helping to prevent cardiovascular complications such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Additionally, it is effective in slowing the progression of kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes and proteinuria. The tablet is typically administered once daily, with or without food, and dosage adjustments may be necessary based on patient response and renal function.
Common adverse effects include dizziness, fatigue, and gastrointestinal disturbances, while serious side effects are rare but may include hyperkalemia and renal impairment. Irovel 300 should be used cautiously in patients with renal artery stenosis, pregnancy, or hypersensitivity to Irbesartan. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during therapy to ensure safety and efficacy.
