Inditel H 40 Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan 40 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, resulting in lowered blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, which decreases plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The synergistic action of these two agents effectively manages hypertension, improving blood pressure control in patients inadequately responsive to monotherapy. Inditel H 40 is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and myocardial infarction. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either component, anuria, or severe renal impairment. Caution is advised in patients with electrolyte imbalances, hepatic dysfunction, or gout. Common adverse effects may include dizziness, hypotension, electrolyte disturbances, and increased urination. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during therapy to ensure safety and efficacy.
