Active composition
Telmisartan selectively blocks angiotensin II receptors, leading to vasodilation and decreased blood pressure.
Medical applications
Inditel 20 Tablet contains Telmisartan 20 mg, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used primarily for the management of hypertension. Telmisartan selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor found in various tissues, including vascular smooth muscle and the adrenal gland, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion. This results in vasodilation, reduced peripheral resistance, and ultimately, lowered blood pressure. Inditel 20 is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension to reduce the risk of cardiovascular morbidity associated with elevated blood pressure. It may also be prescribed for patients with left ventricular hypertrophy or at high risk of cardiovascular events, as it has demonstrated benefits in reducing stroke, myocardial infarction, and cardiovascular death. The tablet is administered orally, usually once daily, with or without food. Common side effects include dizziness, headache, and fatigue, while serious adverse effects are rare but may include hypotension, hyperkalemia, and renal impairment. Caution is advised in patients with renal or hepatic dysfunction, and it is contraindicated during pregnancy. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during therapy to ensure safety and efficacy. Inditel 20 Tablet should be used under medical supervision with adherence to prescribed dosage.
