Hytel-H Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan 40 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which results in vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, contributing to decreased plasma volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The synergistic effect of these two agents provides effective and sustained blood pressure control in patients with essential hypertension. Hytel-H is indicated for the treatment of hypertension in patients who are not adequately controlled on monotherapy with either agent. It may also reduce the risk of cardiovascular events associated with high blood pressure. The combination should be used cautiously in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, electrolyte imbalances, or hypersensitivity to sulfonamides.
