Hytel-AM Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan 40 mg and Amlodipine 5 mg. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that selectively inhibits the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which leads to a decrease in blood pressure. Amlodipine is a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, promoting vasodilation and reducing peripheral vascular resistance.
