Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg) + Telmisartan (80mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Hydrochlorothiazide inhibits sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule, leading to increased urine output and decreased blood volume.
Telmisartan selectively blocks angiotensin II receptors, leading to vasodilation and decreased blood pressure.
Medical applications
Hexartan 80H Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan 80 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor, thereby inhibiting vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which results in vasodilation and reduction of blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to increased excretion of sodium and water, and consequently lowering blood volume and blood pressure. The combination of these two agents provides complementary mechanisms to effectively manage hypertension, especially in patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy. Hexartan 80H is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and may reduce the risk of cardiovascular events associated with high blood pressure. It is generally well tolerated; however, monitoring of electrolyte levels, renal function, and blood pressure is recommended during therapy. Caution is advised in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, electrolyte imbalances, or hypersensitivity to sulfonamides. This medication should be used under medical supervision with adherence to prescribed dosage and lifestyle modifications.

Overall Tolerance
Common Side Effects
Hexartan 80H Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is definite evidence of risk to the developing baby. However, the doctor may rarely prescribe it in some life-threatening situations if the benefits are more than the potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
