Gloxitel-LN Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Cilnidipine 10 mg and Telmisartan 40 mg, designed for effective management of hypertension. Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker, selectively inhibits L- and N-type calcium channels, resulting in vasodilation of peripheral arteries and reduction of sympathetic nerve activity, thereby lowering blood pressure. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), antagonizes the AT1 receptor, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, contributing to sustained blood pressure control. The synergistic action of these agents provides enhanced antihypertensive efficacy with a reduced risk of adverse effects commonly associated with monotherapy. Gloxitel-LN is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, particularly in patients who require combination therapy to achieve target blood pressure levels. It may also offer renal protective benefits in hypertensive patients with comorbid conditions such as diabetes mellitus. The tablet should be administered once daily, with or without food, as prescribed by a healthcare professional. Monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes is recommended during therapy. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to any component, severe hepatic impairment, and pregnancy.
