Genericart Metoprolol Tartrate 50mg Tablet contains metoprolol tartrate, a beta-1 selective adrenergic receptor blocker used primarily in the management of cardiovascular conditions. This medication is indicated for the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, and to improve survival following myocardial infarction. By selectively blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart, metoprolol reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby decreasing oxygen demand and lowering blood pressure.

The 50mg dosage is typically administered orally, with dosing individualized based on patient response and clinical condition. Metoprolol tartrate is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block greater than first degree, cardiogenic shock, and overt cardiac failure. Caution is advised in patients with asthma, diabetes mellitus, and peripheral vascular disease.
Common adverse effects include fatigue, dizziness, hypotension, and gastrointestinal disturbances.
