Genericart Metoprolol Succinate 25mg Tablet ER contains Metoprolol Succinate 23.75mg, an extended-release beta-1 selective adrenergic receptor blocker indicated for the management of hypertension, angina pectoris, and heart failure. By selectively inhibiting beta-1 receptors in the heart, it reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing myocardial oxygen demand.

This extended-release formulation ensures a gradual and sustained release of the active ingredient, promoting stable plasma concentrations and enhancing patient compliance through once-daily dosing. Genericart Metoprolol Succinate is also utilized post-myocardial infarction to improve survival by reducing cardiac workload and preventing arrhythmias. It is contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, or overt cardiac failure requiring intravenous inotropic therapy.
Caution is advised in patients with bronchospastic diseases, diabetes mellitus, and peripheral vascular disorders. Common adverse effects include fatigue, dizziness, hypotension, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Dose adjustments may be necessary in renal or hepatic impairment. Patients should be advised not to discontinue therapy abruptly to avoid exacerbation of angina or precipitating myocardial infarction.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and clinical status is recommended to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse effects.
