Fosabond Tablet contains a combination of Alendronic Acid 70mg and Vitamin D3 5600 IU, formulated to treat and prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and other individuals at risk of bone loss. Alendronic Acid belongs to the bisphosphonate class of drugs, which work by inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, thereby increasing bone mineral density and reducing the risk of fractures. Vitamin D3 plays a crucial role in calcium absorption and bone metabolism, enhancing the therapeutic effect of Alendronic Acid. Fosabond is commonly prescribed for patients with osteoporosis caused by menopause, long-term corticosteroid use, or other conditions leading to decreased bone strength. It may also be used to treat Paget’s disease of bone. Patients are advised to take Fosabond on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, remaining upright for at least 30 minutes afterward to prevent esophageal irritation. Regular monitoring of calcium levels and kidney function is recommended during treatment. Fosabond should be used under medical supervision, especially in individuals with hypocalcemia, esophageal abnormalities, or severe renal impairment.
