Fosabest is commonly prescribed for postmenopausal women, men with osteoporosis, and patients receiving corticosteroid therapy that may weaken bones. It is also used to manage Paget’s disease of bone. The tablet should be taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, at least 30 minutes before the first food, drink, or other medications of the day to maximize absorption and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal irritation.
Patients are advised to remain upright for at least 30 minutes after ingestion to prevent esophageal irritation. Regular monitoring of calcium and vitamin D levels is recommended during treatment. Fosabest should be used under medical supervision, especially in individuals with esophageal disorders, hypocalcemia, or renal impairment.
