How It Works
Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced myocardial oxygen demand.
Hydrochlorothiazide inhibits sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule, leading to increased urine output and decreased blood volume.

Eslo-D Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medication containing Amlodipine 2.5 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, acts by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, resulting in vasodilation and reduced peripheral vascular resistance, thereby lowering blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes diuresis by inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, leading to decreased plasma volume and reduced blood pressure.

The synergistic effect of these two agents provides effective management of hypertension, improving cardiovascular outcomes and reducing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and renal complications. Eslo-D is indicated for patients who require combination therapy to achieve optimal blood pressure control. It is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to either component, severe renal impairment, anuria, or electrolyte imbalances.
Common adverse effects may include dizziness, hypotension, electrolyte disturbances, and peripheral edema. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolyte levels is recommended during therapy. Eslo-D should be used under medical supervision with appropriate dose adjustments based on clinical response and tolerability.
Dosage & How to Use
How to use Eslo-D Tablet Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Eslo-D Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
