Eptus 50 Tablet contains Eplerenone 50 mg, a selective aldosterone receptor antagonist primarily indicated for the management of hypertension and heart failure post-myocardial infarction. By competitively inhibiting aldosterone at mineralocorticoid receptors, Eplerenone reduces sodium and water retention, thereby decreasing blood volume and systemic vascular resistance. This mechanism contributes to improved cardiac remodeling and reduced morbidity and mortality in patients with left ventricular dysfunction.

Eptus 50 is particularly beneficial in patients with hypertension who require adjunctive therapy to achieve target blood pressure levels and in those with heart failure to mitigate the progression of cardiac damage. The tablet should be administered once daily, with dosage adjustments based on renal function and serum potassium levels, as hyperkalemia is a potential adverse effect due to potassium retention.
Regular monitoring of electrolytes, renal function, and blood pressure is essential during therapy. Eptus 50 is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia, significant renal impairment, or hypersensitivity to Eplerenone. Common side effects may include dizziness, hyperkalemia, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Eptus 50 should be used under medical supervision, considering individual patient risk factors and concomitant medications to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
