Enalapril works by inhibiting the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, thereby promoting vasodilation, reducing peripheral vascular resistance, and lowering blood pressure. This mechanism also decreases the workload on the heart, improving cardiac output in patients with heart failure. Envas 5 Tablet is effective in reducing morbidity and mortality associated with congestive heart failure and is also used to prevent the progression of diabetic nephropathy by reducing intraglomerular pressure. Common adverse effects include hypotension, dizziness, cough, hyperkalemia, and renal impairment.
