Spironolactone, a potassium-sparing diuretic and aldosterone antagonist, acts on the distal renal tubules to promote sodium and water excretion while conserving potassium, thereby preventing hypokalemia. Torasemide, a loop diuretic, inhibits the Na-K-2Cl symporter in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, resulting in potent diuresis and reduction of fluid overload. The synergistic effect of these agents provides effective control of fluid retention and reduces blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Zytor-Plus 20 is beneficial in patients requiring enhanced diuresis without excessive potassium loss.
