Zutig 50 Injection contains Tigecycline 50 mg, a broad-spectrum glycylcycline antibiotic indicated for the treatment of complicated skin and soft tissue infections, complicated intra-abdominal infections, and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms. Tigecycline acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing the incorporation of amino acid residues into elongating peptide chains.

This mechanism confers activity against a wide range of Gram-positive, Gram-negative, aerobic, and anaerobic pathogens, including multidrug-resistant strains such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) producing Enterobacteriaceae. Zutig 50 Injection is administered intravenously, with dosing adjusted based on the severity of infection and patient-specific factors such as renal or hepatic function.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tigecycline or tetracycline-class antibiotics.
