Remogliflozin Etabonate (100mg) + Metformin (1000mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Remogliflozin Etabonate inhibits SGLT2, reducing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys and increasing urinary glucose excretion.
Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and enhances peripheral insulin sensitivity, lowering blood glucose levels.
Medical applications
Zucator M 1000 Tablet contains a combination of Remogliflozin Etabonate 100 mg and Metformin 1000 mg, formulated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Remogliflozin Etabonate is a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting urinary glucose excretion and thereby lowering blood glucose levels. Metformin, a biguanide class antihyperglycemic agent, primarily acts by decreasing hepatic glucose production, improving insulin sensitivity, and enhancing peripheral glucose uptake. The synergistic action of these two agents provides effective glycemic control by targeting multiple pathophysiological mechanisms of type 2 diabetes. Zucator M 1000 is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adult patients inadequately controlled on metformin alone or in combination with other antidiabetic agents. It is essential to monitor renal function before and during treatment due to the risk of lactic acidosis associated with metformin and potential renal effects of SGLT2 inhibitors. Common adverse effects may include urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections, gastrointestinal disturbances, and hypoglycemia when used with insulin or insulin secretagogues. Dose adjustments and patient education on hydration and infection signs are recommended to optimize therapy and minimize risks.
