Ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, works by blocking the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation, reduced aldosterone secretion, and decreased blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, promotes the excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubules of the kidneys, thereby reducing blood volume and peripheral resistance. This synergistic combination effectively manages hypertension, reducing the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Zorem-HT 10 is indicated for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy.
