It is indicated for the treatment of various infections including respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhea. The drug exhibits activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Escherichia coli, and Moraxella catarrhalis.
