Zolidus 600 Tablet contains Linezolid 600 mg, an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive bacterial infections. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE), and penicillin-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Zolidus 600 Tablet is commonly prescribed for complicated skin and soft tissue infections, nosocomial pneumonia, and community-acquired pneumonia. Linezolid exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit, thereby preventing the formation of the functional 70S initiation complex essential for bacterial translation.
The tablet is administered orally, with dosing typically adjusted based on the severity of infection and patient-specific factors. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, and reversible myelosuppression with prolonged use. Due to its monoamine oxidase inhibitory properties, caution is advised when co-administered with serotonergic or adrenergic agents to avoid serotonin syndrome or hypertensive crises.
Regular monitoring of blood counts is recommended during extended therapy. Zolidus 600 Tablet should be used under strict medical supervision to ensure efficacy and minimize potential resistance development.
