Zix-PG 200/75 Tablet SR

Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant and analgesic agent, modulates calcium channel function in the central nervous system, diminishing neurotransmitter release and attenuating neuropathic pain signals. The sustained-release nature of this tablet ensures prolonged plasma concentration, enhancing patient compliance by reducing dosing frequency. Zix-PG 200/75 is indicated for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and fibromyalgia.

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either component, active peptic ulcer, severe hepatic or renal impairment, and during pregnancy or lactation unless deemed essential by a physician. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, somnolence, and peripheral edema. Caution is advised when co-administered with other CNS depressants or nephrotoxic agents.

Regular monitoring of renal and hepatic function is recommended during prolonged therapy.
