Zix-PG 200/75 Tablet SR is a sustained-release formulation combining Aceclofenac 200 mg and Pregabalin 75 mg, designed for the management of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders and neuropathic conditions. Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and swelling. Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant and analgesic agent, modulates calcium channel function in the central nervous system, diminishing neurotransmitter release and attenuating neuropathic pain signals. The sustained-release nature of this tablet ensures prolonged plasma concentration, enhancing patient compliance by reducing dosing frequency. Zix-PG 200/75 is indicated for conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and fibromyalgia. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either component, active peptic ulcer, severe hepatic or renal impairment, and during pregnancy or lactation unless deemed essential by a physician.
