Medical applications
Zinodap 10mg Tablet contains dapagliflozin, a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By inhibiting SGLT2 in the proximal renal tubules, dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion, thereby lowering plasma glucose levels. Zinodap is used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents.
Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose, and postprandial glucose levels. Additionally, dapagliflozin has shown benefits in reducing body weight and systolic blood pressure, contributing to overall cardiovascular risk reduction. The usual recommended dose is 10mg once daily, taken orally in the morning, with or without food. Common adverse effects include urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections, and increased urination.
Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, hypotension, or risk factors for ketoacidosis. Regular monitoring of renal function and glycemic parameters is recommended during therapy. Zinodap should be used under medical supervision with appropriate lifestyle modifications for optimal diabetes management.
