Zingmet Tablet SR is a combination oral hypoglycemic agent formulated to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Each sustained-release tablet contains Glimepiride 2mg, Metformin 500mg, and Pioglitazone 15mg, which act synergistically through complementary mechanisms to regulate blood glucose levels. Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea, stimulates pancreatic beta cells to increase insulin secretion. Metformin, a biguanide, primarily reduces hepatic glucose production and enhances peripheral insulin sensitivity.
