Tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of cefepime by preventing the enzymatic degradation of the beta-lactam ring, thereby extending its antibacterial spectrum to beta-lactamase producing organisms. Zifpime-TZ Injection is utilized in the management of complicated urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, pneumonia, and febrile neutropenia.
