Zifi CV 50 DT Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefixime 50 mg and Clavulanic Acid 31.25 mg, designed for the treatment of a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin, exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Cefixime by preventing the degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria.

This synergistic combination is effective against various gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens, including strains resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics. Zifi CV 50 DT is indicated for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, and other susceptible bacterial infections. The tablet is formulated for rapid disintegration, facilitating ease of administration without the need for water, making it suitable for pediatric and geriatric patients.
