Zifi 100 DT Tablet contains Cefixime 100 mg, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity. It is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, urinary tract infections, otitis media, pharyngitis, and gonorrhea. Cefixime acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.

The tablet is designed as a dispersible form, facilitating ease of administration, particularly in pediatric and geriatric populations. Zifi 100 DT is well absorbed orally, achieving effective plasma concentrations to combat systemic infections. It is generally well tolerated; however, potential adverse effects include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal discomfort, as well as hypersensitivity reactions in susceptible individuals.
Caution is advised in patients with a history of cephalosporin or penicillin allergy. Dose adjustment may be necessary in renal impairment. Zifi 100 DT should be used strictly under medical supervision, following susceptibility testing where possible, to minimize the development of resistance. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefixime or other cephalosporins.
