Linezolid (2mg/ml)
Active composition
Linezolid binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis and bacterial growth.
Medical applications
Zidolin Injection contains Linezolid at a concentration of 2 mg/ml and is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive pathogens, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE). Linezolid is an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit, thereby preventing the formation of the initiation complex essential for bacterial translation. Zidolin Injection is administered intravenously, allowing for rapid systemic distribution and is particularly useful in patients unable to take oral medication. It is effective in treating complicated skin and soft tissue infections, nosocomial pneumonia, community-acquired pneumonia, and infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity of infection and patient response. Caution is advised in patients with pre-existing hematologic abnormalities or those receiving serotonergic agents due to the risk of serotonin syndrome. Monitoring of complete blood counts is recommended during prolonged therapy. Zidolin Injection should be used under strict medical supervision to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and minimize the development of resistance.
