Sacubitril (24mg) + Valsartan (26mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Sacubitril inhibits neprilysin, increasing levels of natriuretic peptides and promoting vasodilation.
Valsartan blocks the action of angiotensin II at its receptor sites, leading to vasodilation and decreased blood pressure.
Medical applications
Zayo 50 Tablet contains a combination of Sacubitril (24 mg) and Valsartan (26 mg), formulated for the management of heart failure. Sacubitril is a neprilysin inhibitor that enhances the levels of natriuretic peptides, promoting vasodilation, natriuresis, and diuresis, thereby reducing cardiac workload. Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), inhibits the effects of angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation, decreased aldosterone secretion, and reduced blood pressure. Together, these components synergistically improve cardiac function and reduce the risk of hospitalization and mortality in patients with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Zayo 50 is indicated for adult patients diagnosed with symptomatic heart failure to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life. The medication is administered orally, typically twice daily, with dosing adjustments based on renal function, blood pressure, and patient tolerance. Contraindications include a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor or ARB therapy, pregnancy, and severe hepatic impairment. Common adverse effects may include hypotension, hyperkalemia, renal impairment, and dizziness. Regular monitoring of renal function, electrolytes, and blood pressure is recommended during therapy. Zayo 50 should be prescribed and used under the supervision of a healthcare professional experienced in managing heart failure.
