Zanocin 100 Liquid contains Ofloxacin 100mg/5ml, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Ofloxacin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby preventing bacterial cell proliferation.

Zanocin 100 Liquid is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain sexually transmitted infections. The liquid formulation allows for ease of administration, particularly in pediatric and geriatric populations or patients with swallowing difficulties.
Dosage should be individualized based on the severity of infection, patient age, renal function, and susceptibility of the causative organism. It is important to complete the full prescribed course to prevent the development of resistance. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and photosensitivity. Use of Zanocin 100 Liquid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ofloxacin or other quinolones.
