Yuviflox-OR Oral Suspension is a combination antibiotic and antidiarrheal formulation containing Ofloxacin 50 mg, Ornidazole 125 mg, and Racecadotril 15 mg per dose. Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exhibits broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, provides potent antiprotozoal and antibacterial effects, particularly against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, through disruption of DNA synthesis.

Racecadotril acts as an enkephalinase inhibitor, reducing intestinal hypersecretion and thereby decreasing stool output without affecting intestinal motility. This combination is indicated for the treatment of acute infectious diarrhea, including bacterial and protozoal etiologies, accompanied by excessive fluid loss. Yuviflox-OR Oral Suspension offers rapid symptomatic relief by eradicating causative pathogens and controlling diarrhea, thus preventing dehydration and associated complications.
It is suitable for pediatric and adult patients under medical supervision. Caution is advised in individuals with hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones, nitroimidazoles, or enkephalinase inhibitors, and in those with severe hepatic or renal impairment. Adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, and rarely, central nervous system effects.
