Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, exhibits broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication. Metronidazole, an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent, is effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by causing DNA strand breakage and inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis. Simethicone acts as an anti-foaming agent, reducing bloating and discomfort by facilitating the coalescence and expulsion of gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract. This oral suspension, flavored with mango for improved palatability, is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections such as amoebiasis, giardiasis, bacterial diarrhea, and mixed infections where anaerobic and aerobic pathogens coexist.
