It is indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria. Ofloxacin exerts its antibacterial action by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby preventing bacterial cell proliferation. Yuviflox 100 Oral Suspension is particularly useful in patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets or require dose flexibility. The suspension formulation allows for accurate dosing in pediatric and adult patients. It is generally well tolerated; however, potential side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. Hypersensitivity reactions, central nervous system effects such as dizziness or headache, and tendonitis or tendon rupture, although rare, have been reported. Caution is advised in patients with a history of seizures or those receiving concomitant medications that may prolong the QT interval.
