Yulina 5mg Tablet contains Linagliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Linagliptin works by enhancing the levels of incretin hormones, which increase insulin secretion and decrease glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner, thereby improving glycemic control. Yulina is prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar regulation in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin.

The recommended dose is 5 mg once daily, with or without food. Linagliptin is primarily eliminated via the enterohepatic system, making it suitable for patients with renal impairment without dose adjustment. Common adverse effects include nasopharyngitis, headache, and upper respiratory tract infections, though it is generally well tolerated. Hypoglycemia risk is low when used alone but may increase when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas.
