Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Cefixime by preventing the enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby extending its spectrum of activity. This synergistic combination is indicated for the management of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, and other susceptible bacterial infections.
