Additionally, it has antiemetic, sedative, and anticholinergic properties, making it useful in treating severe nausea, vomiting, and intractable hiccups. Yemetil is also employed in managing acute manic phases of bipolar disorder and certain behavioral disorders. The tablet is administered orally, with dosage individualized based on the patient’s clinical condition, response, and tolerability.
Common adverse effects include sedation, orthostatic hypotension, anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, constipation), extrapyramidal symptoms (tremors, rigidity), and potential metabolic disturbances.
