This medication is also utilized in the treatment of Tourette’s syndrome and for controlling severe behavioral problems in children. Halodent 5 Tablet is administered orally, with dosage individualized based on the patient’s clinical condition, response, and tolerability. Common side effects may include extrapyramidal symptoms such as tremors, rigidity, and akathisia, as well as sedation, dry mouth, and orthostatic hypotension.
Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disorders, epilepsy, or a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome. Regular monitoring of neurological status and cardiac function is recommended during therapy. Halodent 5 should be used under strict medical supervision, and abrupt discontinuation should be avoided to prevent withdrawal symptoms. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to haloperidol and in comatose states.
