Medical applications
Xsulin R Solution for Injection contains human insulin at a concentration of 100 IU/mL and is indicated for the management of diabetes mellitus requiring insulin therapy. This short-acting insulin formulation is designed to regulate blood glucose levels by facilitating cellular glucose uptake and utilization, thereby reducing hyperglycemia. Xsulin R is typically administered subcutaneously, with onset of action occurring approximately 30 minutes post-injection, peak effect at 2 to 4 hours, and duration of action lasting up to 6 to 8 hours.
It may also be used intravenously in emergency situations such as diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar hyperglycemic states under medical supervision. Dosage and administration should be individualized based on patient’s glycemic control, dietary intake, and physical activity. Careful monitoring of blood glucose is essential to avoid hypoglycemia, the most common adverse effect associated with insulin therapy.
Patients should be educated on proper injection technique, storage conditions, and recognition of hypoglycemic symptoms. Xsulin R should be used with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, and adjustments may be necessary. This product is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to human insulin or any of its excipients. Proper medical guidance is recommended to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize risks.
