This synergistic combination enhances efficacy against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria by inhibiting enzymatic degradation of cefoperazone, thereby extending its antimicrobial spectrum. Xonabact is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe infections caused by susceptible strains of aerobic and anaerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and septicemia. The powder is reconstituted with an appropriate diluent and administered via intravenous or intramuscular injection, ensuring rapid systemic distribution. Dosage and duration of therapy should be guided by the severity of infection, renal function, and clinical response. Caution is advised in patients with hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins.
