Xilda 50mg Tablet contains Vildagliptin, a potent dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. By selectively inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, Vildagliptin enhances the levels of incretin hormones, which increase insulin secretion and decrease glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner, thereby improving glycemic control. Xilda 50mg is typically prescribed as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as metformin or sulfonylureas.
