Xibmed 90 Tablet contains Etoricoxib 90 mg, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor used primarily for the management of pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal and joint disorders. It is indicated for the relief of signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute gouty arthritis. Etoricoxib exerts its therapeutic effects by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation and pain, while sparing COX-1, which helps maintain gastrointestinal mucosal integrity. This selective action offers an improved gastrointestinal safety profile compared to non-selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Xibmed 90 Tablet is administered orally, with dosage and duration tailored to the patient’s condition and response to therapy. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Etoricoxib, active peptic ulceration, severe hepatic or renal impairment, and established cardiovascular disease due to potential increased risk of thrombotic events.
