Paracetamol (325mg) + Aceclofenac (100mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Paracetamol works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, leading to reduced synthesis of prostaglandins in the brain, which are responsible for pain and fever.
Aceclofenac inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation.
Medical applications
Xerofast Tablet is a combination analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication containing Aceclofenac 100 mg and Paracetamol 325 mg. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exerts its effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, provides analgesic and antipyretic effects by acting centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis and modulate pain pathways. This combination is indicated for the management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions where both pain relief and reduction of inflammation are desired. Xerofast Tablet offers effective symptomatic relief from mild to moderate pain, including headaches, dental pain, and postoperative pain. It is generally well tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, hepatic or renal impairment, and hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol. The recommended dosage should not be exceeded to minimize the risk of adverse effects such as gastrointestinal irritation, hepatotoxicity, or renal dysfunction. Xerofast Tablet should be used under medical supervision, particularly in patients with comorbidities or those on concomitant medications.
