Linezolid (600mg)
Active composition
Linezolid binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis and bacterial growth.
Medical applications
Wenozolid 600 Tablet contains Linezolid 600 mg, an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive bacterial infections. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of complicated skin and soft tissue infections, nosocomial pneumonia, community-acquired pneumonia, and infections caused by multidrug-resistant organisms such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE). Linezolid exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis through binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit, thereby preventing the formation of the initiation complex. Wenozolid 600 is administered orally, allowing for convenient outpatient therapy and improved patient compliance. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity and type of infection, typically administered twice daily for 10 to 14 days. Caution is advised in patients with a history of myelosuppression, as Linezolid may cause reversible bone marrow suppression, including thrombocytopenia and anemia, especially with prolonged use. It is contraindicated in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors due to the risk of serotonin syndrome. Monitoring of complete blood counts and clinical response is recommended during therapy. Wenozolid 600 Tablet should be used under medical supervision to ensure safety and efficacy.
