Aceclofenac (100mg) + Thiocolchicoside (4mg)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Aceclofenac inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain and inflammation.
Medical applications
Wayflam-TH 4 Tablet is a combination medication containing Aceclofenac 100 mg and Thiocolchicoside 4 mg, indicated for the management of musculoskeletal pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal spasms. Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), exerts its therapeutic effect by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and swelling. Thiocolchicoside, a muscle relaxant with anti-inflammatory properties, acts as a selective antagonist of GABA and glycine receptors, providing relief from muscle spasms and improving mobility. The synergistic action of these two agents facilitates effective pain relief, reduction of inflammation, and muscle relaxation, enhancing patient comfort and functional recovery. Wayflam-TH 4 is typically administered orally, with dosage and duration tailored according to the severity of symptoms and clinical response. Caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, cardiovascular disorders, hepatic or renal impairment, and hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or thiocolchicoside. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be avoided unless clearly necessary. Adverse effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, and allergic reactions; therefore, monitoring during therapy is recommended.
