Active composition
Warfarin inhibits vitamin K epoxide reductase, decreasing the synthesis of clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X.
Medical applications
Warf 1 Tablet contains Warfarin 1mg, an oral anticoagulant used to prevent and treat thromboembolic disorders by inhibiting vitamin K-dependent clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X. It is primarily indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation, prosthetic heart valves, or other conditions predisposing to thromboembolism. Warfarin exerts its effect by interfering with the hepatic synthesis of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors, thereby prolonging prothrombin time and reducing blood coagulability. The dosage of Warf 1 Tablet should be individualized based on the patient’s prothrombin time or international normalized ratio (INR), with regular monitoring to maintain the therapeutic range and minimize the risk of bleeding complications. Patients should be advised to maintain consistent dietary vitamin K intake and inform healthcare providers of any concomitant medications or changes in health status that may affect Warfarin therapy. Caution is warranted in patients with bleeding disorders, hepatic impairment, or those undergoing surgery. Warf 1 Tablet should be used under strict medical supervision to ensure safe and effective anticoagulation management.
