Wallbact 500 Tablet contains Cefuroxime 500mg, a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Cefuroxime acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death, thereby exhibiting bactericidal activity. Wallbact 500 is indicated for the treatment of various infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, and Lyme disease.

It is also used in the management of uncomplicated gonorrhea and as prophylaxis in surgical procedures to prevent postoperative infections. The tablet formulation ensures convenient oral administration with good bioavailability. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity of infection, patient age, renal function, and clinical response. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain, as well as hypersensitivity reactions in susceptible individuals.
